John 3:16 is one verse in the bible that is packed with so much truth and insight on who God is.  

 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Reading this passage this week has made me reflect on how God is generous with his love. In fact he gives of his love freely to the entire world without requiring or expecting anything in return.  

God's love is faithful, constant, pursuing, persistent, strong, no matter how many times we push him away, turn our backs, put other things and people before Him, no matter how horrible we sometimes are, His love remains the same. He is still there with us arms open wide for embrace.  

Thats such amazing news for us.  

I had another thought too... if we are to emulate God's love, we need to evaluate how we present our relationships and love to those around us.  

Are your relationships with others requiring things others in order to earn your love, time and investment? Or are you giving of your relationship with others as a free gift of love, no strings attached? We should be striving for the second.  

Today, look to love and be in relationship with those around you despite their actions. It's that kind of love that will change this world, change lives for the better.
